Having an action plan enables quick implementation of stress alleviation techniques.


Managing stress effectively empowers you to maintain control, which is further solidified by having a plan for challenging situations. For instance, in my case, I generally freeze in the face of toxic or overly aggressive situations, a defense mechanism matured over years of dealing with boards. I find it pivotal for my well-being to avoid unnecessary drama. I tackle such incidents once my emotions have subsided and I've reflected on the situation. Having a plan helps control stress and prevents it from controlling you. Proper strategies and planned approaches allow you to face stress with resilience, composure, and control, enhancing your overall quality of life.

Using "I" statements instead of blame shifting promotes understanding and mutual resolution. Effective communication is about finding consensus, not winning arguments.

A robust support network provides perspective, advice, and sometimes a place to vent, often leading to therapeutic relief. In conjunction with seeking support, prioritizing self-care is vital. Self-care, often overlooked due to work commitments, is not indulgence but a leadership necessity. Activities that relax and rejuvenate, like hobbies, exercise, spending time with loved ones, or indulging in some deserved pampering, are essential for your overall well-being and resilience.
